SBK ambassadors Richard Kingscote, Sean Levey and George Boughey are back in action this weekend and we caught up with them for a quick chat about their runners.
Richard Kingscote, jockey: "I galloped Primo Bacio at Newbury about ten days ago and she was quite taking. I was really pleased with her. The lads were all joking because they said it was the first time they’ve seen me excited! She has a very good turn of foot and hopefully the ground stays quick. She’s a very good filly and has to give weight away, but that shouldn’t stop her."
Sean Levey, jockey: “Tacarib Bay is in flying form. He’s had his prep run and came on for it. Now that he’s had a start on the course, I’d imagine he’ll make a very good account of himself in the Qipco 2,000 Guineas. I think he’ll run a lot better than his odds.”
George Boughey, trainer: “Cachet is in great shape. Her work has always suggested that she would get the mile. To have a filly that’s as good as Cachet who is a 16/1 chance for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas and has won a Classic trial is amazing. It’s huge credit to everyone here at Saffron House, who has worked incredibly hard. It means a lot to be here in this position and hopefully we can run a big race on the day.”
Kingscote: "Caradoc is a decent animal but he looked like he struggled a little bit off this mark last year. He blew the cobwebs away on his first run this year and he’s capable of running to a very good level. A small field will actually play to his advantage and he’s run well at Goodwood before. He ticks a lot of boxes."
"I also ride Orin Swift, who is a very likeable horse and always runs an honest race. It’s always good to know that you’re going to get that."
