SBK Flat ambassadors Nicola Currie, Derby-winning rider Richard Kingscote and Classic-winning trainer George Boughey provide insight into their best opportunities of a winner this weekend.
Richard Kingscote, jockey: “Outgate has risen up the weights quite quickly. Whether his progression has stopped just yet I’m not sure, but he’s won around the track, he is well drawn and I’m hoping for a good run in the 3.20 at Chester.”
Outgate is currently available at 6.4 on SBK.
Nicola Currie, jockey: “Brynteg makes his handicap debut over a mile at Bath (3.36). He showed some promise on his first three starts and he’s a nice, big type who has been given time to mature. He’ll get further in time but I don’t see why he can’t run a nice race this weekend. Expect him to do his best work at the finish.”
Brynteg is currently available at 9.6 on SBK.
George Boughey, trainer: “Spangled Mac is in good form and ready for this race (2.25 Bath). He has taken his debut win well and he’s being dropped back in trip, but he seems to handle the track. There looks to be plenty of pace in the race so we’ll probably look to ride him to finish. James Tate’s horse could be hard to beat if he reproduces his debut form but we should be pretty close.”
Spangled Mac is currently available at 2.74 on SBK.
