The Premier League season concludes on Sunday after another captivating year. While there aren’t as many matches of consequence as anticipated a few weeks ago, there’s still plenty of value to be found before the campaign slams shut.
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
The runners-up can finish on a high after a disappointing few weeks, but just don’t expect too much high-octane action at the Emirates this weekend.
Arsenal haven’t scored more than twice in their last three league matches, while Wolves’ games have consistently produced under 2.5 goals over the same timespan. A drab Gunners victory makes sense.
Prediction: Arsenal to win and Under 2.5 goals @ 5
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
Brighton are all the rage after claiming a draw against Manchester City during the week, but Aston Villa will be a similarly tough opponent as they have a European place to secure.
Jacob Ramsey has opened the scoring twice in recent weeks in games against Tottenham and Liverpool, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he provides the breakthrough again here.
Prediction: Jacob Ramsey first goalscorer @ 10.5
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
Brentford are the only Premier League side to have defeated Manchester City at the Etihad this season. Now they have a chance to pull off the double against the champions.
Manchester City will want to finish the season strongly, especially with their FA Cup and Champions League finals looming. However, the Bees could cause some problems and have scored multiple goals in four of their last five games.
Prediction: Brentford to win either half @ 2.24
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
Chelsea enter the season finale having scored just seven times against the current top six all campaign. That’s a recipe for disaster ahead of their match against one of the Premier League’s stingiest defences.
Newcastle’s unit hasn’t been as sturdy in recent games - they have posted just one clean sheet since April 23 - but they stand a good chance of claiming a second given Chelsea’s woes.
Prediction: Newcastle United to win to nil @ 4.8
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
Whether Wilfried Zaha stays at Crystal Palace or not, the club must be relieved knowing that Eberechi Eze has adequately filled his shoes over the past two months.
Eze has six goals and an assist in his previous eight matches, so suffice it to say that Palace’s attack will run through him at home to Nottingham Forest. Back him to get on the scoresheet once again.
Prediction: Eberechi Eze anytime scorer @ 2.68
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
Here’s a statistic out of left-field: Bruno Fernandes ranks in the top 20 for fouls committed in the Premier League this season.
Casemiro’s absence will likely lead to more defensive responsibilities, which could lead to a higher accumulation of fouls and, therefore, a booking.
Prediction: Bruno Fernandes to be booked @ 8.2
Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday
Mohamed Salah has put together another brilliant individual season. The Egyptian forward has posted 19 goals and 11 assists, with 17 of those goal involvements coming in 14 Premier League games since the start of March (11 goals, 6 assists).
Facing already relegated Southampton, who have conceded 69 goals (third most in the league), could catapult Salah into the top three in the Golden Boot race.
Prediction: Mohamed Salah to score at least two goals @ 5.2
Arsenal v Wolves: Arsenal to win and under 2.5 goals @ 5
Aston Villa v Brighton: Jacob Ramsey first goalscorer @ 10.5
Brentford v Manchester City: Brentford to win either half @ 2.24
Chelsea v Newcastle: Newcastle United to win to nil @ 4.8
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest: Eberechi Eze anytime scorer @ 2.68
Manchester United v Fulham: Bruno Fernandes to be booked @ 8.2
Southampton v Liverpool: Mohamed Salah to score at least two goals @ 5.2
