Sunday’s doubleheader features a reeling Arsenal side who will attempt to maintain their narrow gap over Manchester City when it faces West Ham United in a London derby.

That match is followed by Nottingham Forest taking on Manchester United at the City Ground. Erik ten Hag’s men are fresh off a less-than-stellar draw with Sevilla in the Europa League.

West Ham United v Arsenal

Kick-off: 2pm Sunday

The good news for Arsenal is that they will be a bit fresher than West Ham, who faced Gent in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

The downside is that the pressure has been cranked up after last week’s draw at Anfield. Manchester City have a game in hand and the Gunners are now six points clear at the top with a meeting against City looming at the end of the month.

While West Ham might be just three points adrift of the relegation zone, they have been effective recently. They’ve earned four wins from their last 10 games and have only suffered one home defeat in 2023.

However, Arsenal boasts the best away record in the Premier League and this fixture has produced 13 goals in the last three games. This should be a scintillating affair, especially with Gabriel Martinelli on the pitch. The Brazilian has three goals and two assists in his previous four league appearances.

Prediction: Gabriel Martinelli anytime goalscorer @ 2.98

Nottingham Forest v Manchester United

Kick-off: 4.30pm Sunday

Sometimes teams can rise up in the face of adversity and pressure. Nottingham Forest could be one of those sides this weekend.

It’s true that Forest will enter this game on the back of a nine-game winless run having lost four of their last five in the Premier League. However, they’ve lost just once in their last 11 at home and Tottenham is the only ‘big six’ club to win at City Ground in the league this season.

Manchester United will be comforted knowing they won 3-0 at City Ground in the League Cup, but that was nearly three months ago when Erik ten Hag’s side was flying high.

United are experiencing a quick turnaround and have won just one of their last five away trips in the Premier League, which is why this match has banana-skin potential. A point could also lift Forest out of the relegation zone. That could be enough to buoy them towards a monumental result.

Prediction: Draw @ 4
