After a midweek crammed with continental action, the Premier League returns and along with it does the Tipsheet. We have dipped into the weekend's top flight action to bring you five tips below.
Kick off: 15:00 Saturday
Full disclosure, I am a Sheffield United fan. It was an expectantly miserable start to the campaign but Chris Wilder has been a breath of fresh air into the club. Three points from a possible six and two vastly improved performances have significantly lifted the mood around S2.
The same cannot be said for Chelsea. They have only won a third of their last nine in all competitions, a poor return considering the deep pockets of Todd Boehly. Understandably, the Blues faithful are not best pleased with their club's form and things could go through bad to worse at Stamford Bridge on Saturday against a rejuvenated Blades side.
Prediction: Sheffield United Asian Handicap (+1.5) @ 2.2
Kick off: 15:00 Saturday
As we entered winter, Bournemouth were well and truly in the relegation conversation. In fact, it was only at the end of October that Andoni Iraola was a Burnley defeat away from the sack.
The Cherries came from behind that Saturday to beat the Clarets and have not looked back since. Defeats against Manchester City and Liverpool are the only blemishes on a run of seven league games where they have taken 16 points, rising from two points of the foot of the table to within two points of the top half.
Although Luton have been spirited this campaign, it is difficult to envisage anything other than a home win in a goal-laden affair.
Prediction: Bournemouth to beat Luton and BTTS @ 3.35
Kick off: 17:30 Saturday, Sky Sports
There is only one team in between these two sides but as the odds suggest, the gulf in quality is much larger then the league positions suggest.
If it was not for the 10 point deduction, Everton would be in the top half. The Toffees have won more games then Brighton (7) and as many as Newcastle (8), two clubs with continental ambitions which tells you all you need to know about the job Shaun Dyche is doing in Merseyside.
The Toffees manager returns to Turf Moor on Saturday and despite taking four points from the last nine available, it is difficult to see how Burnley get anything out of this game.
The visitors are an appealing price to score twice, a feat they have managed in four of their last five games.
Prediction: Everton to score over 2.5 goals @ 4.6
Kick off: 14:00 Sunday
Both sides were in European action in midweek, with varying degrees of importance.
With their place in the knockout stages already confirmed, Arsenal’s trip to PSV Heindoven was futile. Mikel Arteta rang the changes which will mean his big bitters are well rested for the visit of Brighton this weekend.
The Seagulls had a shootout with Marseille on Thursday for top spot in their Europa League group, with a bye to the round of 16 at stake. It will mean Roberto De Zerbi’s side head to North London in a lot worse wear then the hosts but you expect Brighton to go to the Emirates and cause chaos.
Almost two thirds of their 22 games in all competitions have seen over 2.5 goals and both teams score this season.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score @ 2.0
Kick off: 16:30 Sunday, Sky Sports
In the 10 games towards the back end of last season Trent Alexander-Arnold had a hand in eight goals and looks to have carried this output into the new season.
The England international has two goals and two assists, three of which have come in his last three league appearances. TAA was actually a bigger price to score at Selhurst Park last weekend then he is at Anfield when his side host Manchester United.
More a damning indictment of Man Utd, not a nod to the quality of Crystal Palace.
The Red Devils were thumped by Bournemouth on their own patch last weekend and followed that up by losing a must win Champions League game to crash out of the competition as Group A basement boys.
A couple of reasons why Eric ten Hag’s side are available at 8.8 but backing Alexander-Arnold to score is the bet.
Prediction: Trent Alexander-Arnold to score anytime @ 7.0
Back Sheffield United Asian Handicap (+1.5) @ 2.20
Back Bournemouth to beat Luton and BTTS @ 3.35
Back Everton to score over 2.5 goals @ 4.6
Back Over 2.5 goals and BTTS in Arsenal v Brighton @ 2.0
Back Trent Alexander-Arnold to score anytime @ 7.0
