Premier League Betting Tips: Everton and Tottenham to win plus Pinnock to score

The season is in full flow, ebbing from domestic duty to midweek action in the cup competitions back to the Premier League before heading to the continent for European action. Gameweek 11 comes slapbang in between the Carabao Cup round of 16 and another round of fixtures on the continent, we have five top flight tips for the weekend.

Brentford vs West Ham

Kick-off: 15:00 Saturday

According to the underlying data, West Ham are one of the best sides from set pieces in the Premier League. Surprisingly though, David Moyes' side are also the second worst side at defending them.

The Hammers xGA from dead balls (4.72) is only marginally better then basement boys Sheffield United’s total (4.77). Of the 171 shots West Ham have conceded from open play and set pieces, 29% have come from the latter yet only two of the 15 goals they have conceded in these phases have come from set pieces.

So, Brentford, the best side in the league from set pieces should expose the Hammers slack defending right? Ethan Pinnock looks the most likely candidate to score and take his tally to two goals in as many games.

The former Dulwich Hamlet man opened his account for the campaign at Stamford Bridge last weekend and is averaging 0.10 xG and goals per 90.

Prediction: Ethan Pinnock anytime goalscorer @ 17.0

Everton vs Brighton

Kick-off: 15:00 Saturday

Roberto De Zerbi and his swashbuckling Seagulls taking the division by storm, the Italian supremo already lined up for the Manchester City job when Pep Guardiola moves on, doesn’t everyone just love Brighton? But hang on a minute, if the south coast side lose at Goodison Park they will have only won two of their last 10 and it is a terrible time to face Everton.

The Toffees have won six in all competitions of their last 10, dispatching Brentford, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, West Ham and Burnley over that period. Sean Dyche’s tactics could frustrate his opposite number and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin fit and firing, the hosts could punish Brighton on the counter.

Prediction: Everton to win @ 3.2

Man City vs Bournemouth

Kick-off: 15:00 Saturday

It has not exactly worked out for ante-post dark horses Bournemouth as of yet this campaign, 12 games in and the Cherries have lost more games (7) as they have picked up results in (6).

Andoni Iraola is notoriously good against the big boys though, well he was in Spain anyway where his Real Vallecano side won half of their eight games against Barcelona and Real Madrid across two seasons.

The season, Bournemouth have drawn one of their five games against the ‘big six’, conceding nine and scoring twice but if you fancy an excuse to take on Manchester City Iraola’s reputation on the continent provides a shred of hope.

Prediction: Bournemouth to win @ 28

Luton vs Liverpool

Kick-off: 16:30 Sunday, Sky Sports

The ante-post relegation favourites have copped a lot of unjustly flak but Luton are not going down without a fight. The Hatters are four points off the foot of the table and one point from safety and have shown they have that dog in them recently.

Rob Edwards' last point game from two goals down at the City Ground, Chiedozie Ogbene (83) and Elijah Adebayo (90) finding the net within the last seven minutes.

At Kenilworth Road, Luton have not lost by more than a one goal margin this season, scoring in all bar one of their five games on home soil. The visit of a chaotic Liverpool side should encourage goals at both ends.

Prediction: Both teams to score @ 1.88

Tottenham vs Chelsea

Kick-off: 20:00 Monday, Sky Sports

The Premier League slate concludes in North London. Only 11 miles separates New White Hart Lane and Stamford Bridge in the west but in terms of confidence, these sides are lightyears apart.

Over a quarter of a way into the campaign and Tottenham top the pile, 26 points from the 30 available, they are yet to lose a domestic fixture and that should not change with the visit of Chelsea.

You would have to wait for the second half of the table to be shown on Match of the Day to reveal the Blues position. Mauricio Pochettino’s six victories this campaign reveal their level; Luton, AFC Wimbledon (League Two), Brighton, Fulham, Burnley and Blackburn (Championship).

Prediction: Tottenham to win @ 2.16
