The Premier League takes centre stage again this midweek and we have cast an eye over the full slate of action picking out five best bets for the tipsheet.
Kick-off: 19:30 Tuesday, TNT Sports 2
Morgan Gibbs-White likes to play in the number 10.
Steve Cooper was playing him on the right.
Nuno Espírito Santo has moved Gibbs-White from the right into his favoured number 10 position and you’ll never guess what? Gibbs-White is playing a lot better.
In Nuno’s eight games in charge, the England youth international has netted twice and set up another and with those goals coming in his last two starts, backing him to bag on Tuesday certainly appeals.
Gibbs-White has had 13 shots in his last six appearances, so why not be a little greedy and back him to score twice? At huge odds, it is worth a tout.
Prediction: Morgan Gibbs-White 2+ Goals @ 46
Kick-off: 19:45 Tuesday
Fulham are good at home, nine wins in their 15 games at Craven Cottage shows as much. They are an appetising price against Everton but the bet hinges on a key absentee for the visitors.
Abdoulaye Doucoure has been a key man under Sean Dyche. Brought in from the cold and redesigned as a more advanced midfielder, Doucoure is pivotal in-and-out of possession.
His pressing figures are streets ahead of any other player in the Premier League and his non penalty xG of 0.20 per shot shows how crucial he is offensively.
Unfortunately for Everton, Doucoure has missed seven of the last eight games and coincidentally his absence coincides with the Toffee’s poor form.
The Blues have only won one of their last eight games and without their starman I think they will leave the capital empty handed.
Prediction: Fulham Win @ 2.46
Kick-off: 19:30 Wednesday, TNT Sports 3
Manchester City’s record against Premier League new-boys is imperious (4G, 4W), as is their record at the Etihad this term (15G, 13W, 0L), as is their recent form (one defeat in since October).
There are a few reasons why they are heavily odds on to beat Burnley but Pep Guardiola’s treble winners aren’t impenetrable. City have conceded in 14 of their 20 league games this season.
Lyle Foster looks the most likely candidate for the visitors, the South African has netted four times in 11 league appearances, that is a goals per 90 average of 0.37.
Prediction: Lyle Foster Anytime Goalscorer @ 8.40
Kick-off: 20:15 Wednesday, TNT Sports 1
Liverpool vs Chelsea, a fixture that pits two of the traditional ‘big six’ against one another. It has lost a little of its razzle dazzle recently. The 1-1 draw on matchday one of the season was the first time a goal has been scored between the clubs in five (yes 5) meetings.
The 6-1 thumping of Middlesbrough aside, where Boro were masters of their own downfall, Chelsea have been pretty tame recently scoring one goal either side of that second leg with Boro.
Under 2.5 goals has clicked in both of the games where Liverpool have hosted a big six side this term and that is the bet here.
Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals @ 2.96
Kick-off: 20:15 Thursday, TNT Sports 1
Manchester United’s league form has slipped slightly under the radar, they have won just two of their last eight and leaves them closer to the bottom half then the top four.
Despite taking a two goal lead against Newport on Sunday, the Red Devils were pegged back just after half time labouring to victory over a side three divisions and 66 places below them.
I fear for them during this trip to the Molineux. Wolves are seven unbeaten and somewhat specialists against the sides biggest and best sides.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City have all left Wolverhampton empty handed this campaign.
Prediction: Wolves Win @ 2.76
Back Morgan Gibbs-White 2+ Goals @ 46
Back Fulham to beat Everton @ 2.46
Back Lyle Foster Anytime Goalscorer @ 8.40
Back Under 2.5 Goals in Liverpool vs Chelsea @ 2.96
Back Wolves to beat Man United @ 2.76
