Gameweek 37 is upon us which means only two games remain for the majority of the division and yet there is plenty to be decided. The title, the top four and who is going to be joining Sheffield United in the Championship next season. In our tipsheet we have tips for half of the weekend's Premier League action.
Kick-off: 12:30 Saturday, TNT Sports
After a video circulated social media of Fulham players flying a kite on their training pitch this week, I have been wondering what the best way to oppose them was.
With nothing to play for other than place money, for those wondering how seriously Fulham would take this clash, I think the video is pretty conclusive.
Combine that with the state of play for Manchester City who have a chance to move ahead of Arsenal in the title race and it is not difficult to see why City are so heavily odds on.
In recent weeks, we have seen Pep Guardiola’s side blow sides out of the water early on. The Cityzens were three up at half time against Wolves, 1-0 at the City Ground and 3-0 up at the interval at the Amex.
Prediction: Man City First Half Asian Handicap (-1) @ 2.38
Kick-off: 15:00 Saturday
Here is the state of play in the relegation fight.
Two spots need to be filled and they can be filled by three teams; Burnley, Luton and Nottingham Forest. If Burnley do not win at Tottenham and Forest beat Chelsea in the evening kick off, the Clarets are down.
Juxtapose that with Spurs who are effectively out of the top four race seven points behind Aston Villa with nine to play for and Man City to play on Tuesday.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have not won in four, shipping 13 goals over that period.
Prediction: Burnley Win @ 8.0
Kick-off: 17:30 Saturday, Sky Sports
Although I do not doubt for one second Burnley will get anything over then a win at Tottenham, if the impossible happens and the Clarets do drop points, the shackles are off for Nottingham Forest.
Goals are expected anyway, over 2.5 is currently 1.55, so imagine how many they’ll be if Forest have nothing to play for.
One man who will play with a purpose is Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Chelsea youth product will be doubly keen to get one over his boyhood club and at 4.5 looks a great price to find the net.
Prediction: Callum Hudson-Odoi Anytime Goalscorer @ 4.40
Kick-off: 16:30 Sunday, Sky Sports
Manchester United are 7.40 to win a game at Old Trafford, an unprecedented occurrence. Never have the Red Devils been so large to win a game on their own patch in Premier League history.
Why are they this big?
Well, that was a decade in the making but the latest facet is the 4-0 thumping at Selhurst Park on Monday.
There is also the fact that hosts will be starting Jonny Evans and Casemiro at the heart of defence against title hopefuls Arsenal.
The visitors have not won at Old Trafford since 2006 but looked primed to do so on Sunday and it could get ugly.
The Gunners won their last four on the spin, netting 13 goals in the process.
Prediction: Arsenal Asian Handicap (-2) @ 2.60
Kick-off: 20:00 Monday, Sky Sports
It is probably fair to say that Aston Villa’s season ended on Thursday.
They headed to Olympiacos, two goals down on aggregate and lost 2-0 on the night leaving the Europa Conference League favourites crashing out of the competition in the semi-finals.
Seven points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham fourth place looks sewn up as Spurs only have nine points left to play for.
The Villans look jaded as well. Four without a win and three defeats over that period will tell you as much.
So, although it has not been the swansong Jurgen Klopp would have hoped for, his Liverpool side look a fair price to win at Villa Park.
Prediction: Liverpool Win @ 1.75
Back Man City First Half Asian Handicap (-1) @ 2.38
