As the daffodils start to bloom the Premier League campaign turns towards the home straight and with plenty to be decided at both ends of the table we have five tips for matchday 24.
Kick-off: 12:30 Saturday, TNT Sports
Manchester City are the clear favourites as they host Everton in the Premier League’s lunchtime kick off and with the hosts odds on to score at least three times, it makes sense to delve into the goalscorer market.
Kevin De Bruyne’s price to net anytime is the standout.
The Citizens creator-in-chief has netted 23 times over the last three campaigns (goals per 90 of 0.44). The Belgian wasted little time in getting back amongst the goals since his return from injury setting up four and finding the net during City’s trip to St James’ Park.
Prediction: Kevin De Bruyne Anytime Goalscorer @ 4.0
Kick-off: 15:00 Saturday
Dominic Solanke is a large price to find the net at Craven Cottage.
The frontman has bagged 13 goals already this term, none of which have come against sides in the top five which would suggest he thrives against the divisions lesser teams.
The frontman scored in the reverse and got a hattrick at the City Ground, at big odds his price to take home another matchball interests me here.
Fulham have conceded 38 times this term (1.7 per game) and have only kept one clean sheet in their last six games.
Marco Silva’s side have conceded three or more goals on seven occasions, so why not take a punt on a Solanke hattrick?
Prediction: Dominic Solanke hat-trick @ 55.0
Kick-off: 17:30 Saturday, Sky Sports
Clever tactics in the reverse at St James’ Park earnt Nuno Santo Espirito his first win of his Nottingham Forest managerial stint.
He targeted the lack of pace on the left hand side of Newcastle’s backline which Chris Wood and Anthony Elanga duly exploited.
These shrewd moves have become a feature of Nuno’s stint at the City Ground, as have goals and over 2.5 is the bet here.
This bet has clicked in five of Forest’s last six league games, falling a goal shy in their most recent fixture, a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.7
Kick-off: 16:30 Sunday, Sky Sports
Goals have been a feature of this Premier League campaign with just under two thirds of the fixtures seeing at least three scored. I am going to be a little bolder here and tout at least four goals in this clash at Villa Park.
It landed in the reverse at Old Trafford where Manchester United came from two goals down to edge a five goal thriller. Aston Villa are usually pretty obliging in the goals department so expect another goal laden game on Saturday evening.
Unai Emery’s side followed their 5-0 thumping of Sheffield United with a 3-1 defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Wednesday. It means that this goal line of four has been met in each of their last three games.
Prediction: Over 3.5 Goals @ 2.40
Kick-off: 20:00 Monday, Sky Sports
The Premier League action concludes at Selhurst Park with a London Derby as Crystal Palace host Chelsea.
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino heralded the performance in the cup in midweek as his side's best under his tutelage. No doubt the Argentine will be looking to build some momentum here but consistency has been hard to find as Chelsea haven’t won more than three games on the spin this season.
With Eberchi Eze and Michael Olise ruled out of this clash, it is difficult to make a case for the Eagles. The pair have combined to score 11 goals domestically, impressive considering Roy Hodgson’s men have only scored 26 times this season.
At the price on offer, Chelsea have to bet on Monday.
Prediction: Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace @ 1.86
Back Kevin De Bruyne Anytime Goalscorer @ 4.0
Back Dominic Solanke hat-trick @ 55.0
Back Over 2.5 Goals in Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle @ 1.76
Back Over 3.5 Goals in Aston Villa vs Manchester United @ 2.40
Back Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace @ 1.86
