Everton v Tottenham Tips: Toffees target Spurs’ sticky situation

Following a Premier League goalfest at the weekend, Monday Night Football will see two sides with all sorts of off-the-field issues go into battle.
Everton are under threat of a points deduction after accusations of Financial Fair Play breaches, while Tottenham Hotspur have an interim manager in charge after they made the decision to move on from Antonio Conte.
That’s where their similarities end, though, as their league positions couldn’t be much different. Spurs are within touching distance of the Champions League spots, while the Toffees are scrapping for their lives in the relegation zone. But Everton manager Sean Dyche has brought some joy to Goodison Park since his arrival and they could frustrate their rival in what figures to be a gritty match.
Everton’s season has been largely disappointing due to numerous issues at board level as well as on the pitch. But there has been a substantial upturn since Dyche came on board, which is why Spurs are odds-against to win despite being so many places above them in the table.
The new Toffees boss has really made his mark in front of home fans. They have won more Premier League matches in their own backyard in the last month (three wins in their last four games) than they achieved earlier in the season under Frank Lampard.
All of those victories have been 1-0 wins - you can back that scoreline at 11.5 against Spurs, although you might be put off by the fact that their London rivals have scored six in their last two league matches.
However, Spurs have a horrible recent record on the road. The collapse against Southampton that saw them draw 3-3 after being 3-1 up made it five away games without victory – and they had lost four in a row before visiting St Mary’s Stadium.
One major positive for the visitors is that they have one of the best strikers in the world leading their line, and he goes into this game flying high on the back of becoming England’s all-time top scorer over the recent international break.
Harry Kane is priced at 2.38 to score anytime in the match, which is pretty appealing given he’s found the back of the net in all of his last four games for club and country. For those slightly braver, you can back him to open the scoring at 5.3.
The hosts are still without their main striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, so they will probably end up relying on Demarai Gray (4.7 anytime) to get involved up top.
