The Euro 2024 qualification action continues on Monday with Wales among the teams in action. Here is our preview of the action across the continent.
Kick off: 5pm
Group D remains wide open ahead of Monday’s fixture. Turkey, who are not in action having played more games than any of their rivals, lead the way. Croatia and Armenia are both three points behind the leaders.
The winner of this match will therefore be in an excellent position to qualify for the tournament. Croatia have been pretty impressive up to now, taking seven points from a possible nine, and they should come out on top here. Bruno Petkovic notched a brace last time out and will be full of confidence in Yerevan.
Tip: Bruno Petkovic to score any time @ 2.54
Kick off: 7.45pm
Iceland memorably reached the last eight at Euro 2016 but they are unlikely to make it to the tournament eight years later. With just three points to their name so far, they need a miracle to advance.
Bosnia-Herzegovina also have ground to make up, largely because they have lost both of their away games to date. Yet Iceland recently shipped three goals to Luxembourg, so a clean sheet could be beyond them in this must-win encounter.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 1.97
Kick off: 7.45pm
Wales are also up against it in their bid to qualify for the next European Championship. They trail the top two in Group D by three points, so it is essential that they get the better of last-placed Latvia in Riga.
The Latvians qualified for Euro 2004 but they will not be at next year’s edition. This should be a comfortable evening for the Dragons, who would be disappointed to concede to a team that will surely finish bottom of the group.
Tip: Wales to win to nil @ 2.16
Kick off: 7.45pm
Once European minnows, Luxembourg are in with a genuine chance of reaching next year’s competition. They have collected 10 points from a possible 15 so far and are only outside the top two on goal difference.
This will be a tough test, however, as Portugal seek to pull clear in top spot. Cristiano Ronaldo and co. thrashed Luxembourg 6-0 in the reverse fixture and there should be plenty of goals on the cards here too.
Tip: Portugal to win and over 3.5 goals @ 2.06
Kick off: 7.45pm
Liechtenstein are rooted to the foot of the Group J standings having conceded 16 goals and scored only one in their five games up to now.
They have let in two penalties and will have to spend a lot of this match camping in their own half. Do not bet against Liechtenstein conceding another spot-kick to this second-placed Slovakia side.
Tip: Penalty to be awarded @ 2.12
Armenia vs Croatia: Back Bruno Petkovic to score any time @ 2.54
Iceland vs Bosnia-Herzegovina: Back Both teams to score @ 1.97
Latvia vs Wales: Back Wales to win to nil @ 2.16
Portugal vs Luxembourg: Back Portugal to win and over 3.5 goals @ 2.06
Slovakia vs Liechtenstein: Back a penalty to be awarded @ 2.12
