Europa League and Conference League Betting Tips: Liverpool, Brighton and Rangers in action

The Europa League and Europa Conference League return on Thursday - here is our preview of five key games.

Marseille v Brighton & Hove Albion

5.45pm, TNT Sports 1

Roberto De Zerbi will want to see a response from his Brighton players after their demolition at the hands of Aston Villa last time out. The Italian is likely to shuffle his pack against Marseille, although a 3-2 loss to AEK Athens on matchday one reduces Brighton’s margin for error.

Albion’s matches are often high-scoring: their seven Premier League games up to now have contained a division-high 33 goals. Thursday’s contest at the Stade Velodrome is likely to follow that pattern.

Tip: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 1.83

Freiburg v West Ham United

 5.45pm, TNT Sports 2

Fresh from winning the Europa Conference League last season, West Ham are targeting a deep run in the Europa League this time around. But Freiburg are no pushovers, as they showed with a battling 3-2 win at Olympiacos last month.

This looks set to be a tight game between two teams that will both be eyeing top spot in Group A. Goals could be few and far between at the London Stadium.

Tip: Under 2.5 goals at 2.22

Liverpool v Union Saint-Gilloise

 8pm, TNT Sports 1

Liverpool will still be smarting from their controversial 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, but they must get that disappointment out of their minds quickly.

With Cody Gakpo suffering an injury in north London, Darwin Nunez looks nailed on to start up front when Union Saint-Gilloise come to town. The Uruguayan scored against LASK on matchday one and can do so again here.

Tip: Darwin Nunez to score any time at 2

Aston Villa v Zrinjski Mostar

8pm, TNT Sports 2

Aston Villa suffered a 3-2 defeat by Legia Warsaw on matchday one, putting them under pressure ahead of their second Europa Conference League game of the campaign. 

This should be a relatively comfortable evening for Unai Emery’s side, though. Villa thumped Brighton 6-1 in impressive fashion at the weekend and they should be able to dominate this meeting with Zrinjski Mostar too.

Tip: Aston Villa -2.5 Asian handicap at 1.95

Aris Limassol v Rangers

5.45pm, TNT Sports 3

Rangers sacked Michael Beale on Sunday after a run of poor results in the SPL. They did, however, beat Real Betis 1-0 in their first Europa League fixture, so the Gers are in a decent position in Group C.

Steven Davis will take charge against Aris Limassol on Thursday and Rangers will expect to make it two wins from two.

Tip: Rangers to win at 1.89
