Euro 2024 Final: Our writers best bets for the game

Latest Euro 2024 Final Odds12 July 2024
Ahead of England's first final on foreign soil, we got three of our writers to give us their best bets for the game.
There are few better players in world football than Spain’s central defensive midfielder. Rodri is a winning machine, he just wins games of football. The last time he lost a match in 90 minutes was 472 days ago, 474 by the time he puts his boots on in Berlin on Sunday night.
However, his role regularly requires him to put in what those in the game call a ‘professional foul’, one designed to stop the opposition counter attack before it can hurt his team. In doing this, he often finds himself in the referees bad books and on the receiving end of a yellow card. He has already been booked three times in the tournament - no player has seen yellow more. He is priced at 3.35 to see yellow on Sunday, which seems too good to be true.
Back Rodri to be carded @ 3.35
The addition of the pacey and tricky duo of Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal to the attack has added much-needed impetus into the Spanish attack. Neither winger play with fear, with their first thought to take on their opposition number.
Williams will again play on the left flank, facing the rapid Kyle Walker. While Walker is only averaging 0.30 tackles per 90 in the Euros, right-backs against Spain have racked up impressive numbers.
When Williams has started, right backs have averaged 3.8 tackles per game, with every single one hitting at least two tackles.
Dani Olmo is also expected to start again as he chases a golden boot, despite starting only two games thus far. The 26-year-old scored in the last game against France, taking his tournament total to three.
The RB Leipzig midfielder is averaging 0.79 goals, 3.96 shots and 1.58 shots on target per 90. Against an England side that are conceding 9.5 shots per game, Olmo should have plenty of opportunities to strike at goal.
Prediction: Kyle Walker over 1.5 tackles @ 1.81
Dani Olmo over 0.5 shots on target @ 1.71
Spain were once the dominant force in world football and they are well on their way to reaching the summit once again. They won the final of this competition in 2008 and in 2012 but most importantly, they managed a first half goal in each of those.
La Roja have scored an average of 1.3 first-half goals under Luis De La Fuente and their game against France showed that they are capable of a fast start and overcoming any setbacks.
England have conceded a first-half goal in three of their six matches at Euro 2024. The Netherlands scored with their first shot of the game and they were the first top tier opposition that Southgate’s side had faced.
Recommended Bet: Over 0.5 first-half goals for Spain at 2.24
