The Championship resumes on Wednesday, which means more picks and tips from EFL expert Jack Goddard - read on to find some value bets with his Championship predictions.

Burnley v Rotherham

Kick-off: 7.45pm Wednesday

Burnley made difficult work of defeating Reading on Saturday. Anass Zaroury scored a last-gasp winner, but the result would have likely been very different had the Royals not had a clear penalty shout turned down at 1-1.

Nonetheless, Burnley’s dominance in this league is becoming ever clearer. They’ve scored more goals than anyone else, conceded fewer than everyone but Preston, they’ve won five of their last six matches and crucially they have the most points in the Championship.

Rotherham are nobody’s fools, though. They comfortably sit in mid-table but, since Paul Warne’s departure, they have managed just eight points from as many games. The Millers keep things pretty tight - even away from home they’ve conceded just ten goals all year - but the price is too tasty for a comfortable Burnley win here.

Prediction: Burnley -1.5 on Asian Handicap @ 2.12

Norwich v QPR

Kick-off: 7.45pm Wednesday

Norwich are in an incredibly precarious spot, finally winning at the weekend after a spell of four defeats in five games. It’s not a run of form the Canaries can afford to replicate ever again this season if they have any realistic hopes of automatic promotion.

If either of these two sides currently looks more likely to go up this year, it’s QPR. The Rs have been a surprise package under the tutelage of Michael Beale, and are looking like serious title contenders. They have lost their last two away games, however - a trend they’ll want to end immediately.

The Hoops will get plenty of goal-scoring opportunities at Carrow Road, as Norwich have kept just two clean sheets in nine home matches this season. Dean Smith’s side have, however, failed to score on their own patch on just one occasion.

I expect this to be a proper ding-dong between two sides desperate to show their promotion credentials - both teams will score, probably more than once.

Prediction: Both teams to score @ 1.76

Dean Smith looks unhappy in a white shirt during a Norwich City match.

Can Dean Smith make his team look like legitimate promotion contenders again?

Birmingham v Millwall

Kick-off: 7.45pm Wednesday

Birmingham have been subtly impressive this year, going from relegation candidates to dark horses for a play-off place. The Blues have picked up some big results already, in particular against Sheffield United and Burnley, but now they need to follow it up with some consistency.

Well, now is their chance. After an incredibly impressive win over third-place QPR on Friday night, Birmingham now host a Millwall side with an appalling away record.

The Lions are hovering on the fringes of the play-off places themselves after a recent run of four successive wins - which included their first and only away victory of the season - but have since lost to second-bottom Huddersfield for a fifth away defeat of the campaign.

Birmingham, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last four matches at St. Andrew’s, picking up eight points in that span. It would be a major shock if Millwall were the team to end that run.

Prediction: Birmingham to win @ 2.6

Wigan v Stoke

Kick-off: 7.45pm Wednesday

Wigan are tumbling down the Championship table after a spell of four successive defeats. Their early-season foray into the top half was based entirely on their away form, which now seems to have totally abandoned them. At home, they’ve been awful since the very start.

The Latics have scored a measly three goals in their last five games at the DW Stadium which, as you might expect, has led to four defeats. But I wouldn’t necessarily expect Stoke to take advantage. The Potters have lost their last three matches, scoring just once in the process. I expect this to be a dire game, short of quality and definitely short on goals.

Prediction: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.69

Championship predictions

Burnley v Rotherham United: Burnley -1.5 on Asian Handicap @ 2.12
Norwich City v Queens Park Rangers: Both teams to score @ 1.76
Birmingham City v Millwall: Birmingham to win @ 2.6
Wigan Athletic v Stoke City: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.69

Accumulator odds: 15.5 decimal, 14.5-1 fractional
