European football returns to our screens tomorrow night as we pass the halfway stage in this season’s group stages.

Dortmund wrestled their way back into contention at St. James’s Park with a 1-0 win. Edin Terzic’s side remain behind Eddie Howe’s side on goal difference and this looks to be a game of fine margins with the stakes so high. Dortmund were hammered 4-0 by Bayern at the weekend and should look to keep things tight here. Their only home match so far in this competition so far finished 0-0.
Newcastle secured a 1-0 win over Arsenal at the weekend thanks to a controversial goal. I’m backing this encounter to be another low-scoring affair. The Magpies' away match in this competition was a 0-0 draw against Milan.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals at 2.2

Shakhtar Donetsk put up a fight at the Camp Nou after finding themselves 2-0 down at half-time. They can still qualify from this group and a positive result here would do their chances a world of good. They have scored in all three of their Champions League matches this season. The Ukrainian side have also found the net in five of their last six home matches in European competition.
Barcelona edged past Real Sociedad at the weekend but they have been conceding plenty of goals on the road this season. Their domestic away matches have seen their opponent’s average 1.33 goals. The Catalan giants have managed just two clean sheets in their last 10 European away matches.
Tip: Both teams to score at 1.92

Milan’s woes continued at the weekend when they were beaten by Udinese. The Rossoneri are now without a win in four competitive matches and are still awaiting their first win in the Champions League.
PSG have built up some momentum since their humbling 4-1 defeat at St. James’s Park. They have won their last five matches and this included a 3-0 win over Milan. Over this period, Luis Enrique’s side are averaging three goals per game conceding 0.6. PSG can solidify their position at the top of Group F and I’m backing them to do just that.
Tip: PSG to win at 2.26

Manchester City coasted past Young Boys in Switzerland 3-1. However, they were wasteful in front of goal and could easily have bagged a few more. Pep Guardiola’s side are averaging 27 shots per Champions League this season; six more than Real Madrid who rank 2nd in this regard. City showcased their ruthless side in the win over Bournemouth at the weekend and I expect to see more of the same here.
Young Boys held firm during the first half in Bern but a trip to the Etihad should be an even sterner test for their defence. They had an xGA of 1.46 in the first half of the last meeting and they are facing a City side that has scored two or more in the first half of four of their last five home matches.
Tip: Over 1.5 first-half goals for Manchester City at 2.28
Back under 2.5 goals in Borussia Dortmund v Newcastle @ 2.2
Back BTTS in Shakhtar Donetsk v Barcelona @ 1.92
Back PSG to beat AC Milan @ 2.26
Back over 1.5 goals for Man City against Young Boys @ 2.28
