KSI v Tommy Fury: Spencer Oliver’s Betting Tips and Preview

This is the biggest boxing crossover event we have had so far, there can be no doubt about that.

It is such a compelling match-up because their paths to this fight have been so different. KSI is a huge star and a real icon for young people in the UK and around the world. He was famous before he took up boxing, but with Misfits he has helped to create a series of blockbuster events.

And on the other side you have Tommy Fury, who has been involved in boxing his whole life. He comes from a long line of boxers. His dad is John Fury and his brother, Tyson, is one of the best heavyweights of all time. You can’t come from a bigger boxing family than that.

Having had the chance to chat to both fighters yesterday, it is clear that both of them truly believe that they will win. Fury looks in great shape and has a confident aura around him. I have seen this with plenty of fighters before and that only comes from knowing you have left no stone unturned in your preparation.

KSI told me that he has watched a lot of Fury’s fights and that he has spotted weaknesses that he can exploit. He also told me that he has worked harder for this fight than for any of his others and, most importantly, he has learnt from previous experiences. He knows what it’s like to be hurt and to come back from that.

Because of KSI’s lack of professional experience and awkward style, he will present Fury with problems. While Fury is capable of boxing on the front foot, I think we will probably see him on the back foot and try to keep the fight at as long a range as possible. He will bide his time and wait for a mistake from KSI before moving in.

Fury really can’t afford to lose this, all the pressure is on him. KSI isn’t even in double figures when it comes to the number of bouts, either professional or amateur. I do think this pressure weighed heavily on Fury when he faced Jake Paul, but I think he will be different this time. He has more of an idea of what to expect and I think he will be going for the knockout.

For KSI a win is huge, I think it would probably be one of the biggest achievements of his frankly ridiculous career over YouTube, boxing and music. But I think the step up in standard is probably going to be too much for him.

The other big fight on the card is Logan Paul v Dillon Danis.

Now this fight is really personal: we saw it all kick off at the press conferences yesterday when Danis hit Paul in the face with a microphone and cut him so I can’t even be certain  the fight will go ahead. But if it does, I would really fancy Paul. He is an unbelievable athlete, that much was obvious from the first time I met him back in 2018. I think he is probably the most naturally gifted boxer of any of the YouTube boxing crew; he just lacked a bit of stamina in his fight with KSI all those years ago.

There has been some controversy around the official weigh-ins for the fight but Paul has confirmed on Twitter they will be fighting tomorrow night.

Paul will surely win this one and I think within the distance. I wouldn’t rule out a Danis disqualification either given his unpredictable behaviour and wrestling background.
